Some Friends

We thought we would take some time to introduce some people we have met along the way. Above is Pastor Sergai, his wife Tanya and their boy Daniel. Below is their daughter Anastasia. We met them in Vladivostok. They were always inviting us over to their place for lunch, or to take a shower, or use a normal toilet. One of our new compliments when arriving at a house is, "nice toilet." For a couple weeks we got to hang out with them. They took us to the beach, we would play ping pong on Sunday evenings or just hang out in their apartment. Nastia, their daughter helped us learn some Russian while Daniel the little boy, just learning to walk, would patrol the living room. He is a very special kid.
This is our tour guide Victor "the Drifter." We had one phone number to call when we arrived to Vladivostok, and it was Victor......it was a real treat to get to know him. Very nice guy who helped us get around the city for a couple weeks. He helped us find places to stay. The first place he arranged was the Vladivostok Tent Resort, which was where we stayed under the tarp. He would always invite us for food, tea and cookies.
Below is Goto. We met him on the ship crossing over from Fushiki to Vladivostok.....very friendly guy who just retired running his own Sushi Restaurant for 43 years. While we were sitting in the lounge one day, he pulled out a knife and went over to one of the plants on the ship and cut off a couple leaves.... after about thirty minutes he came up with these........

Hey! So looks like your getting some nice hospitality! That's great. Chrissi, I'm so glad to see you're treating yourself to wearing heels. Doesn't it make you feel good? I loved pulling out my heels once a week in South America to feel a little girly again.
Jon, do you have any gum? Do you want some? hahaha. I miss you guys!
Hugs!
